The magazine 'Fabulous' has a very simple yet effective colour scheme. The consistency of read and white makes it look not only professional yet eye catching. The use of the colour red on her dress, the bus and typeface also makes it stand out against the black and white background, this is because red is such a bold colour and because it is used so consistently it makes it clearer and more eye catching. By the use of puff on the image and body copy, it helps show the representation of 'World Domination' that it states on the front cover. The camera angle also helps this because it is below her and makes her look large in comparison to the bus and London city style background. This could represent her being big in the music industry.
The 'sketchy' font for the body copy also helps emphasise the idea of attack and once again draws you in. This font is commonly used on old American horror film posters, by using this and having the turned over cars underneath makes the point of domination and attack clearer. The pull quote 'she's dead but he's still in love with her' makes you want to read the article because it's different and interesting, and even though it's in a smaller font than the rest, the red background brings your attention to it and means you know what you're going to read. Red also is a colour commonly associated with danger, therefore by using this and idea of attack they have added to the meaning. The layout of the layered images and text also makes it look more professional and 3 dimensional, also by having one leg in front of the images and one seeming to be involved in the background it makes her look more incorporated into the background rather than just an image on the front in relation to other common Popular Culture magazine's.
The magazine doesn't portray standard ideology because the articles are about drugs and sex which is not a god image to set. The USP for this magazine is having not only a celebrity model, but interviewing her and having the image in relation to the article. This makes the magazine more appealing, and also increases the range of people that would read it because a large age range listen to the band she is in. The target audience are women that read News of the World or perhaps their teenage daughters because the topics are more related to women as the Italic typeface on the masthead suggests, as do the articles in the magazine. The use of colloquial language 'wannabe wags' relates to the young target audience as they understand the phrase. Also it would be read by News of the World readers because the institution that makes the magazine is News of the World. The genre of this magazine is Popular Culture and through the articles this is shown well.
